Ms. Simmi R. Nakra IP&TAFS (1994) , has been appointed as CVO, Power Finance Corporation (PFC), Delhi under the Ministry of Power, for an initial period of 3 years, from the date of assumption of charge of the post.
Mrs. Simmi R. Nakra is the accomplished Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of Power Finance Corporation Limited (PFC). A distinguished officer from the 1994 batch of the Indian Post & Telecommunication Accounts and Finance Service (IP&TAFS), she has a stellar academic background that includes a Gold Medal in M.Sc. (Chemistry) from Kurukshetra University, dual M.Phils in Organic Chemistry (Punjab University, Chandigarh) and Defence & Strategic Studies (University of Madras), and an MBA in Finance from IGNOU. She is also an alumna of the prestigious National Defence College, New Delhi, reflecting her strong foundation in strategic leadership and academic excellence.
In addition to her pivotal role at PFC, Mrs. Nakra holds the charge of Chief Vigilance Officer for PFCCL, the Central Electricity Authority, POSOCO, and Rural Electrification Corporation Ltd., demonstrating her ability to oversee and strengthen governance across multiple critical organizations.
With over 29 years of dedicated service to the Government of India, Mrs. Nakra has served in various capacities in the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), and the Department of Posts. Notably, she was the first-ever CVO of the Medical Council of India (MCI) and has held the role of Government Nominee Director on the Boards of Telecommunications Consultants India Ltd. (TCIL) and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL).
Her professional journey is marked by innovative achievements, such as spearheading the development and implementation of the Direct Pension Disbursement mechanism for MTNL pensioners and customizing the BHARATKOSH payment collection system in the DoT. She also played a pivotal role in introducing the E-Service Book Project during her tenure in the DoPT.
Mrs. Nakra’s rich experience spans procurement, financial advisory, internal audit, budgeting, vigilance, administration, accounts, and policymaking. Her strategic vision and commitment to excellence continue to inspire and advance the operations of PFC and its affiliated organizations, solidifying their reputation as benchmarks in governance and leadership.
