Shri Pradeep Fellows, Executive Director of CSR at REC Limited, accepted the award on behalf of the organisation, alongside several senior officials from REC. The award acknowledges REC Limited’s commitment to cultural preservation and community empowerment through CSR initiatives

One of the highlights of REC Limited’s CSR projects has been its initiative in Gujarat, which focuses on providing financial support to improve the skills of women artisans and craftswomen. This program is designed to foster sustainable livelihoods and ensure the continuity and growth of India’s traditional art forms. By equipping these talented women with advanced skills and essential resources, REC is not just facilitating economic independence, but also safeguarding cultural craftsmanship for future generations.

The National Culture Fund (NCF), established under the Ministry of Culture, serves as a vital financing mechanism aimed at promoting the protection, restoration, conservation, and development of India’s diverse cultural heritage. It operates through partnerships with corporate entities, public sector organizations, non-governmental organizations, state governments, and individuals, thereby enabling a collective effort in cultural sustainability.

Founded by the Government of India through a Gazette Notification dated November 28, 1996, the NCF functions as a Trust under the Charitable Endowment Act, 1890. The Fund is governed by a Council, chaired by the Honorable Minister of Culture, with members drawn from a variety of sectors including corporate, public, and non-profit organizations. The Executive Committee, led by the Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, oversees its operations.

As REC Foundation continues to champion the cause of cultural preservation, it sets a commendable example for other corporations in the space of social responsibility, demonstrating that business initiatives can intersect harmoniously with cultural stewardship.
