Ms. Rachna Shah IAS (Kerala 1991) presently Secretary- DoPT given additional charge as Secretary- Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances and Secretary- Department of Pensions and Pensioner’s Welfare from 01.05.2025 to 09.05.2025 during the period of absence on leave of Shri V Srinivas IAS (Rajasthan 1989).

Ms. Rachna Shah, currently serving as the Secretary in the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), has been entrusted with the additional responsibilities of Secretary in both the Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances and the Department of Pensions and Pensioner’s Welfare from May 1, 2025, to May 9, 2025. This arrangement comes during the temporary absence of Shri V Srinivas IAS on leave. With an impressive career spanning multiple senior roles, Ms. Shah has significantly contributed to public administration, particularly in the areas of personnel management, general administration, and personnel training. Her leadership is marked by a commitment to improving governance and ensuring effective public service delivery.

Her academic background includes a First Class in both her Bachelor’s degree in Economic Hons. and her post-graduate degree in Business Economics, both from Delhi University. Over the years, Ms. Shah has held numerous critical positions at both the state and central levels. Some of her notable roles include serving as Secretary in the Ministry of Textiles, Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, and holding various leadership positions within the Cabinet Secretariat. She has also been instrumental in driving reforms related to administrative efficiency and public grievances. Her diverse experience, combined with her dedication, has made her a key figure in shaping the public sector’s operational landscape.
