Punjab Government Bureaucratic Reshuffle, 12 Officials Transferred

Indian Bureaucracy, Chandigarh, April 21, 2025| The Punjab government issued transfer order affecting 12 bureaucrats. The reshuffle includes reassignment of portfolios for 3 IAS officers, new appointments for 3 Sub Divisional Magistrates (SDMs), and changes primarily within urban development bodies and the energy sector.

Details of the officers and their new assignments is listed below.

1. Shri Sanyam Aggarwal IAS (Punjab 2012) presently Director, Higher Education, Punjab, given additional charge of Special Secretary – Health & Family Welfare, Punjab.
2. Smt Palavi IAS (Punjab 2015) presently Special Secretary, Water Supply & Sanitation, with additional charge of HOD, Department of Water Supply & Sanitation, is given additional charge of Special Secretary – Power Department, Punjab, relieving Smt Apneet Riyait (IAS), of the additional charge, and Special Secretary – New and Renewable Energy sources, Punjab, relieving Shri Sukhjeet Pal Singh IAS of the additional charge.
3. Shri Sukhjeet Pal Singh IAS (Punjab 2018) presently Additional Secretary, Health & Family Welfare with additional charge of Additional Secretary, New & Renewable Energy Sources, and Member Secretary, Punjab State Scheduled Caste Commission, is relieved of all the presently held additional charges and given additional charge of Additional Secretary – Urban Development, Punjab.
4. Shri Rakesh Kumar Popli PCS (2012), presently Additional Managing Director, Punjab Grains Procurement Corporation Ltd., is transferred and appointed as Additional Chief Administrator – Punjab Urban Planning & Development Authority, HQ, relieving Smt Innayat PCS.
5. Smt Nayan PCS (2012), presently Joint Secretary, Water Supply and Sanitation, with additional charge of Secretary, Punjab Transparency & Accountability Commission, is given additional charge of Member Secretary – Punjab State Scheduled Caste Commission relieving Shri Sukhjeet Pal Singh IAS of the additional charge.
6. Smt Simerpreet PCS (2014), presently Deputy Director (Admin), PWD, Patiala, with additional charge of Deputy Director (Admin), Water Supply & Sanitation, Patiala, is transferred and appointed as Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) – Tapa, Punjab, relieving Shri Shri Rishabh Bansal PCS.
7. Shri Jagdeep Saigal PCS (2016), presently SDM, Barnala, Punjab, is transferred and appointed as Joint Director – Department of Local Government, Punjab.
8. Shri Vikas Hira PCS (2016), presently SDM, Dhuri, Punjab, is transferred and appointed as Chief Administrator – Policy, Punjab Urban Planning & Development Authority, relieving Smt Innayat PCS.
9. Shri Harpreet Singh Atwal PCS (2016), presently Deputy Secretary, Local Government, Punjab, is transferred and appointed as SDM – Barnala, Punjab.
10. Smt Innayat PCS (2016), presently Additional Chief Administrator (Policy and H.Q.), Punjab Urban Planning & Development Authority, is appointed as Additional Chief Administrator – Amritsar Development Authority, Amritsar, relieving Shri Amit Sareen PCS.
11. Shri Harjinder Singh Jassal PCS (2020), presently awaiting posting, is appointed as Estate Officer – Amritsar Development Authority, Amritsar, relieving Shri Gursimran Singh Dhillon PCS, of the additional charge.
12. Shri Rishabh Bansal PCS (2022), presently SDM, Tapa, is transferred and appointed as SDM – Dhuri, Punjab, relieving Shri Vikas Hira PCS.
