Shri Pralhad Joshi has been allocated the portfolio as Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution and Minister of New and Renewable Energy.
Union Minister Shri Pralhad Joshi officially took charge of the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution. Former Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Shri Piyush Goyal handed over the charge to Shri Joshi in the presence of Ministers of State Shri B.L. Verma and Smt. Nimuben Jayantibhai Bambhaniya. Shri Sanjeev Chopra, Secretary, Department of Food and Public Distribution and Smt. Nidhi Khare, Secretary Department of Consumer Affairs along with senior officers of the Ministry were present.
Shri Pralhad Joshi, on assuming charge, thanked PM Narendra Modi for the opportunity, emphasizing his commitment to serving 80 crore Indians. He highlighted the flagship scheme PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana and pledged to prioritize activities identified by former Union Minister Shri Goyal in the first 100 days of the government.
Shri Pralhad Joshi took charge as Union Minister of New and Renewable Energy at Atal Akshaya Urja Bhawan. Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Shri Bhupinder Singh Bhalla, along with senior officials of the ministry welcomed the minister.
Speaking to the media, the Union Minister Minister Sh. Pralhad Joshi emphasized the critical importance of the renewable energy sector for ensuring India’s energy security and outlined the vast potential for growth in this field. He also underscored the government’s commitment in advancing renewable energy initiatives to meet the country’s rising energy demands and environmental goals.
