Shri Rakesh Kumar, CMD, NLCIL, the Chief Guest inaugurated the two day National Seminar organized by NLC India Limited on the theme “Thermal Power Issues, Challenges and Way Forward”,on 26.10.2018 at Learning & Development Centre, Neyveli. Shri Rakesh Kumar, in his inaugural speech insisted that an integrated approach towards Thermal Power Sector would help to understand and enable to face transitions in market scenarios like regulatory challenges, such as the pricing of electricity, changing of electricity supply and demand patterns, regulatory and market frameworks. Also, he appealed participant to pitch light on what extent Super critical and Ultra-Super critical technologies are available and can in general provide more flexibility than subcritical plants. Shri Rakesh Kumar informed that NLC India Ltd. has got place in the top 250 Global Energy Company Rankings by S&P Global Platts.
Shri Prasant Kumar Mohapatra, Director (Technical), NTPC, the Guest of honor, informed that, Meeting energy demand will require not just producing more, but also using what we do produce more efficiently by balancing environment challenges is very essential now. He said, NTPC is ready to share its expertise with NLCIL to operate supercritical and ultra-super critical technologies in Thermal Power generation.
Earlier, Shri V.Thangapandian, Director (Power),NLCIL delivered the seminar theme Speech and Shri D.Venkata Subbaiah, ED / Thermal,NLCIL delivered welcome speech.
Functional Directors, Shri R. Vikraman, Shri NNM Rao and former Directors of NLCIL, Shri V Sethuraman, Shri J.Mahil Selvan and Shri S.Rajagopal, graced the occasion.
An exhibition was organized at L&DC, where in NLCIL Thermal operation models, history and achievements of company depicted. In this two day National Seminar more than 300 delegates from various Organizations including NLC India are participating.
