NLC India accomplished Swachh Bharat at Marungoor

Under the aegis of NLC India, students of Schools at Neyveli, stepped down to the road of Marungoor, Palakollai & Muthandikuppam Villages, the peripheral Villages of Neyveli, (09.11.2016) and cleaned well, under “Swachh Bharat” mission. Also, “Clean India Awareness” march around the streets of the villages were performed by the students, besides staged a “Street-Drama” & “Villupattu”, performed by the students, where it exposed the importance of “Clean-India” in the minds of every village people, who watched.

A National Mission of “Swachh Bharat” was passionately adopted by NLC India Limited. As part of it, two week programme is being conducted, which commenced from 1st November, 2016. On the line of progress, “Cleaning Programme” as well as “Clean India” (Swachh Bharat) Awareness Campaign were organized, today (09.11.2016) at Marungoor, Palakollai & Muthandikuppam Villages, which are the peripheral villages of Neyveli.

To Cover all these three villages, 100 students of the same NLC Girls’ Hr. Secondary School, Block-11, took part cleaning work at Marungoor Village, under the guidance of Mr. G. Rajagopal, APO/NLCI and Teachers of the school, Ms. Muthamizh Selvi, PET and Mr. Tamil Selvan, PT. Also, 94 students of NSS studying in NLC Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Block-11, participated in the Clean-India works at Palakollai Village under the guidance of Mr. K. Vasudevan, Education Department/NLCI, Ms. Jayaselvi, PET/GHSS, Bl-11, Mr. Manikandan, BT/Palakollai, Mr. Veera Sekar of Palakollai Village and personnel from CSR Team of NLC India Limited. Furthermore, 155 students attached to Scouts & Guides studying in various schools of Neyveli viz., Jawahar Matric Higher Secondary School, Block-17, NLC Boys Higher Secondary School, Block-10, NMJ Matric School, Block-12 and Tagore Matric Higher Secondary School, Block-29 participated in the Cleaning Works and Awareness March at Muthandikuppam Village, under the guidance of Mr. Asokan, APO/NLCI Ltd.,Mr. Puniyamurthy, Mr. Sekar and Mr. Shunmugam.

During their cleaning Service performed at villages, they distributed Hand Bills, which portrayed the need of Clean-India Mission among the village people; pasted stickers at different prominent places of the villages, besides performing Clean-India Awareness March all streets. In addition, a street drama and Villupattu (Folk Song) were also performed by the school students, which were spellbound of the event.

In a special address, delivered by Mr. M. Senthilkumar, CM/Education Department said, though the “Cleaning Programme” was performed at three peripheral villages today, by NLC India Limited as part of the Prime Minister’s Vision of “Clean-India” movement, the areas should be seen clean-forever, which can be possible, only with the support of the village people. The services rendered by NLC India were very much appreciated by local people of all the three villages.
