Indian Air Force commenced its Exercise Vayu Shakti-24 at the Pokhran range near Jaisalmer. The event showcased the Air Force’s strength and abilities and was attended by Chief of Defence Staff, General Anil Chauhan.
The show opened with helicopters carrying the National Flag and the Air Force ensign, followed by a cool move called the ‘Sonic Boom’ by a Rafale aircraft. There were also low-flying Jaguar aircraft taking cool pictures of the area.
The main theme of the event was ‘Lightning Strike from the Sky,’ and more than 120 aircraft took part. They showed off their skills during the day and night, engaging and destroying pretend enemy targets on the ground and in the air. The Tejas aircraft, made in India, showed off its moves, and the Apache attack helicopter joined in, firing missiles at targets on the ground.
The event also included special operations, like the Garuds showing how they handle urban situations. They even had a band playing tunes for everyone to enjoy.
As the sun set, they continued the action into the night. They used drones, helicopters, and even a Light Combat Helicopter named ‘Prachand’ to engage targets. The show featured strategic bombing by aircraft, and they even live-streamed the action for everyone to see.
In total, they dropped about 50 tonnes of stuff in just two hours. It was a pretty impressive display of the Air Force’s abilities, showing they can hit their targets with precision.
