The Consultative Committee meeting of the Ministry of Minority Affairs was held to discuss the Functioning of Central Waqf Council . The Meeting was chaired by Dr. Najma Heptulla, the Union Minister for Minority Affairs.
A presentation was made before the Committee on the Central Waqf Council. The Committee discussed in detail the Waqf (Amendment) Act, 2013 and challenges in it’s effective implementation. Members made several suggestions for effective implementation of the Act.
Welcoming the suggestions, Dr. Najma Heptulla briefed the committee on measures being taken to address the issues raised by the members. Thanking members for their valuable suggestions she assured them to consider the suggestions and make all possible efforts for implementation.
The members who attended the meeting are Shri Anwhar Raajhaa, Maulana Asraul Haque Mohammad, Shri E.T Mohammed Basheer (Lok Sabha) and Shri Ali Anwar Ansari, Shir Joy Abraham (Rajya Sabha).
