Indian Bureaucracy, Gandhinagar, December 10, 2024| In an important administrative development, the Government of Gujarat, through a late-night notification from the Home Department, announced the transfer and appointment of 25 senior police officers, including both IPS and SPS officials, with immediate effect. This reshuffle, addresses key organizational changes, notably provided relief to officers who had been awaiting postings, particularly those affected by the aftermath of the Rajkot fire tragedy. Among those receiving new assignments after a prolonged wait of nearly 20 months were IPS officers Sudhir Desai and Vidhi Choudhary. The list of officers along with their new postings and assignments is provided below.
Shri Shamsher Singh IPS (Gujarat 1991), presently, Director General of Police – Law & Order, with additional charge of Director, Anti-Corruption Bureau, Ahmedabad, will continue to hold additional charge of the post of Director – Anti-Corruption Bureau, Ahmedabad, Gujrat.
Dr S Pandia Rajkumar IPS (Gujarat 1996), presently, Additional Director General (ADG), CID, Crime and Railways, Gandhinagar, is transferred and appointed as ADG – Law and Order, Gandhinagar, in place of Dr Shamsher Singh IPS.
Shri Ajay Kumar Choudhary IPS (Gujarat 1999), presently, Special Commissioner of Police, Special Branch, Ahmedabad City, is transferred and appointed as ADG – Women Cell, Gandhinagar.
Shri M L Ninama IPS (Gujarat 2006), presently, Joint Commissioner, Crime and Traffic, Vadodara City, is transferred and appointed as Inspector General – State Traffic Branch, Gandhinagar, Gujrat.
Ms Vidhi Choudhary IPS (Gujarat 2009), presently awaiting posting, is appointed as Additional Commissioner of Police (ACP) – Special Branch, Ahmedabad City, with additional charge of ACP – Administration, Ahmedabad City.
Shri Jaipalsingh Rathore IPS (Gujarat 2010), presently, Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Rajkot Rural, is transferred and appointed as ACP – Sector-2, Ahmedabad City, Gujrat.
Dr Leena Patil IPS (Gujarat 2010), presently, Additional Commissioner of Police (ACP), Zone-3, Vadodara City, is transferred and appointed as ACP – Crime and Law and Order, Vadodara City, Gujarat.
Dr Sudhirkumar J Desai IPS (Gujarat 2012), presently awaiting posting, is appointed as Superintendent of Police – Intelligence, Gandhinagar, in place of Shri Bharatkumar B Rathod SPS, transferred.
Shri Balram Meena IPS (Gujarat 2012), presently, Superintendent of Police (SP), Western Railway, Ahmedabad, is transferred and appointed as Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) – Zone-1, Ahmedabad City, Gujrat, in place of Shri Himanshu Kumar Verma IPS (Gujarat 2018).
Shri Himkar Singh IPS (Gujarat 2013), presently, Superintendent of Police (SP), Amreli, is transferred and appointed as SP – Rajkot Rural, Gujrat, in place of Shri Jaipalsingh Rathore IPS (Gujarat 2010).
Smt Usha B Rada IPS (Gujarat 2013), presently, Commandant, SRPF Group-6, Mudeti, Sabarkantha, is transferred and appointed as Superintendent – Prison, Vadodara, Gujarat, in place of Ms Nidhi Thakur IPS (Gujarat 2020).
Shri Sanjay Dnyanadeo Kharat IPS (Gujarat 2014), presently, Superintendent of Police (SP), Anti-Economic Offences Wing, CID, Crime, Gandhinagar, is transferred and appointed as SP – Amreli, Gujarat, in place of Shri Himkar Singh IPS (Gujarat 2013).
Dr Ravindra Patel IPS (Gujarat 2016), presently, Superintendent of Police (SP), Patan, is transferred and appointed as Executive Director – Gujarat State Police Housing Corporation, Gandhinagar, Gujrat.
Shri Shripal Shesma IPS (Gujarat 2018), presently, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Zone-2, Ahmedabad City, is relieved of the post and placed on waiting for posting.
Shri Vikas Sunda IPS (Gujarat 2018), presently awaiting posting, is appointed as Superintendent of Police (SP) – Kutch-Bhuj (West), Gujarat.
Shri Himanshu Kumar Verma IPS (Gujarat 2018), presently, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Zone-1, Ahmedabad City, is transferred and appointed as Superintendent of Police (SP) – Anti-Economic Offences Wing, CID, Crime, Gandhinagar, in place of Shri Sanjay Dnyanadeo Kharat IPS (Gujarat 2014).
Shri Alok Kumar IPS (Gujarat 2019), presently, Commandant, SRPF, Group-3, Madana, is transferred and appointed as Deputy Commissioner of Police – Zone-1, Surat City, Gujarat, in place of Ms Bhakti Dabhi SPS.
Shri Abhishek Gupta IPS (Gujarat 2019), presently, Commandant, SRPF, Group-14, Kalgam, Valsad, is transferred and appointed as Deputy Commissioner of Police – Zone-3, Vadodara City, in place of Dr Leena Patil IPS (Gujarat 2010).
Ms Nidhi Thakur IPS (Gujarat 2020), presently Superintendent, Prison, Vadodara, is transferred and appointed as Superintendent, Prison, Ahmedabad, in place of Smt Sweta Shrimali IPS (Gujarat 2010).
