As per the directions of LUVAS Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Vinod Kumar Verma, copyright acquisition (SW-18808/2024) has been received for the app designed by the scientists of the Department of Veterinary Microbiology. With the help of this app, the economic loss caused by the outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) in cows, buffaloes, sheep, goats and pigs can be accurately assessed.
Vice Chancellor Dr. Vinod Kumar Verma appreciated the efforts of the scientists of the Department of Veterinary Microbiology, LUVAS, Hisar and made public the copyright certificate issued by the Intellectual Property, Copyright Office, Government of India. He expressed hope that this app will prove to be important in ensuring animal health protection and agricultural sustainability amid emerging threats like foot-and-mouth disease. On the basis of research done in the Department of Microbiology, LUVAS, Haryana has become the first state to be allowed by the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Government of India for combined vaccination of FMD and HS disease.
