UP Tourism and Culture Minister Shri Jaiveer Singh stated the 15-to-20-minute presentation will combine visuals, narration, and music to illustrate India’s military history. The bilingual show is slated to run for five years, intended to foster national pride among younger generations and enhance local tourism.

The memorial, established in 1993, commemorates soldiers of the Central Command, specifically recognizing all 21 Param Vir Chakra recipients and three Ashok Chakra awardees from Uttar Pradesh.

Recently, the Smritika War Memorial expanded its accessibility, opening its gates for daily public visits as of June 20, 2024. This change allows more individuals to engage with the contributions of the armed forces. Additionally, on May 2, 2025, the memorial introduced a Piped Natural Gas (PNG) supply for its eternal flame, an update intended to provide a cleaner and more sustainable form of remembrance.
