Shri Justice Arun Palli presently Judge- High Court of Punjab and Haryana has been appointed as Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh .

Born on September 18, 1964, to Sarla and Prem Kishan Palli, Justice Arun Palli hails from a family with a rich legal legacy. His great-grandfather, Late Sh. Lachchman Dass Palli, and grandfather, Late Sh. Lajpat Rai Palli, were respected lawyers at the District Bar in Patiala. His father, a Senior Advocate, served on the Bench of the Himachal Pradesh High Court until his retirement in 1998.

Justice Palli graduated in Commerce and earned his Bachelor of Laws from Panjab University, Chandigarh, in 1988. He began his legal career at the High Court of Punjab and Haryana, where he quickly gained proficiency in diverse areas of law, including civil, criminal, constitutional, revenue, industrial, and labour law. His extensive experience led to his appointment as Additional Advocate General for Punjab from 2004 to 2007.

In recognition of his legal expertise, Justice Palli was designated as a Senior Advocate on April 26, 2007. He has contributed to several significant legal matters as Amicus Curiae before the High Court and appeared before the Supreme Court, Delhi High Court, and the High Court of Himachal Pradesh in various important cases.

On December 28, 2013, Justice Palli was elevated to the Bench of the Punjab and Haryana High Court. Since May 31, 2023, he has been serving as the Executive Chairman of the Haryana State Legal Service Authority. Additionally, on October 31, 2023, he was nominated as a Member of the Governing Body of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) for a two-year tenure.
