In Railway Budget 2011-12, a total number of 131 new trains were announced, out of which 68 new trains have been introduced and 63 new trains are yet to be introduced. New train services announced in Railway Budget are generally introduced during the same year.
Earnest efforts are being made to overcome various constraints like non-availability of coaching stock, non-completion of infrastructure related works, etc., for introduction of new trains announced in Railway Budget. Removal of these constraints is a continuous process.
