In a move to enhance the safety and security of women and children, the Department of Justice has initiated a comprehensive scheme that will see the establishment of 1023 Fast Track Special Courts (FTSCs) across the nation. These courts, including 389 dedicated to Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act cases, are designed to expedite trials related to rape and sexual offenses against minors. The expedited legal proceedings are expected to provide a measure of relief to those affected while also acting as a deterrent to potential offenders. This move is expected to offer much needed prompt delivery of justice.
