NITI Aayog (National Institution for Transforming India) is the Indian government’s premier policy think tank. Established in 2015, it replaced the Planning Commission, shifting focus from a top-down to a bottom-up approach to development. Its structure comprises a Governing Council with state Chief Ministers, a Vice-Chairperson, and experts.
