Shri Burra Vamsi Rama Mohan assumed the role of Director (Projects) at Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), a Maharatna CPSE under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, effective November 13, 2024. An engineering graduate with a Postgraduate Diploma in Management, Shri Vamsi previously served as Officer on Special Duty (Projects) in POWERGRID. He has also completed the Harvard ManageMentor (HMM) Program and undertaken courses from the esteemed Indian School of Business.
With over 30 years of extensive experience in the power and telecom sectors, Shri Vamsi has expertise in project implementation and procurement management. His deep understanding of the power sector’s regulatory framework led him to be a founding member of POWERGRID’s Regulatory Cell. As a key architect, he played a pivotal role in POWERGRID’s entry into competitive bidding, a strategic move that positioned the company successfully within the competitive market.

Shri Rahul Shrivastava IFS (1999) presently has been appointed as the next High Commissioner of India to the Republic of Namibia.
Shri Rahul Shrivastava was born in Chhattisgarh, located in Central India, and spent his formative years in Odisha. He joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1999 and began his diplomatic career with training in India from September 1999 to August 2001. His first posting was as Third Secretary and then Second Secretary at the Embassy of India in Moscow, where he served from August 2001 to July 2004. Following this, he was assigned to Astana, Kazakhstan, from July 2004 to August 2006, where he represented India as a Second Secretary. His career continued in Kazakhstan, where he served in Almaty from August 2006 to July 2007, taking on roles including Second Secretary, First Secretary, and Charge d’Affaires at the Indian Embassy.
From July 2007 to July 2009, Shri Rahul worked in India’s Ministry of External Affairs as Under Secretary and later Deputy Secretary for Russia in the Eurasia Division. He then served at the High Commission of India in London as First Secretary, Counsellor, and Charge d’Affaires from August 2009 to April 2013. Afterward, he returned to Moscow as a Counsellor at the Indian Embassy from May 2013 to July 2015. In July 2015, Rahul was appointed as the Ambassador of India to Venezuela, a role he held until March 2018. He then returned to India to serve as Joint Secretary at the SSIFS within the Ministry of External Affairs from April 2018 to July 2020. Since July 2020, he has been serving as the Ambassador of India to Romania, with concurrent accreditation to Albania and Moldova.
Shri Shrivastava holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, a Master’s degree in Computer Applications (MCA), and a Master’s degree in International Relations. He is fluent in Hindi, English, and Russian, with professional proficiency in Spanish. In addition to his diplomatic achievements, Rahul is the most followed diplomat on Quora and has a passion for writing. His interest in writing began in childhood when he and his friends published a magazine at the age of twelve. To date, he has authored eight books across various genres, including family saga, self-help fable, young adult, coming-of-age fiction, science fiction, and romantic fiction.
