Shri Ashish Gupta IAS (Rajasthan 2013) appointed as Joint Director (Deputy Secretary level) in the National Testing Agency (NTA) under the D/o Higher Education, Delhi under the Central Staffing Scheme for a period of four years.
Shri Ashish Gupta has been appointed as Joint Director (Deputy Secretary level) in the National Testing Agency (NTA) under the Department of Higher Education, Delhi. His career has been marked by exceptional leadership and administrative acumen, with significant contributions across multiple domains, including land revenue management, finance, public administration, and information technology.
Beginning his journey in the civil services, he underwent training from September 2013 to August 2015, followed by his first posting as Assistant Secretary in the Urban Development sector at the Centre. His field experience started as a Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) and Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) in Ajmer from December 2015 to November 2016. Demonstrating his efficiency in governance, he was then appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Zila Parishad in Dungarpur and later in Sawai Madhopur, where he served until May 2018.
His expertise in financial administration was recognized with his posting as Joint Secretary in the Finance (Expenditure) Department in Jaipur from May to December 2018. Soon after, he took charge as District Collector and Magistrate of Banswara, where he efficiently handled land revenue management and district administration. His commitment to public service was further evident when he served as Director & Joint Secretary in the Public Grievances Department from September 2019 to February 2020, followed by a tenure as Secretary in the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC).
With an impressive track record in district administration, he was appointed as District Collector and Magistrate of Bundi from July 2020 to September 2021, where he played a pivotal role in governance and public welfare. He then assumed the role of Director in the Watershed & Soil Conservation Department in Jaipur, followed by a significant tenure as Commissioner & Managing Director in the Information Technology & Communication Department from July 2022 to July 2023. His leadership in this role contributed to advancing digital governance initiatives in the state.
Furthering his legacy in district administration, he took charge as District Collector and Magistrate of Jaisalmer from July 2023 to January 2024 and subsequently held the same position in Alwar until September 2024. His most recent assignment before moving to the central government was as Inspector General & Deputy Secretary in the Registration & Stamps Department, Ajmer.

His transition to the National Testing Agency marks a new chapter in his journey, where his expertise is expected to contribute significantly to India’s higher education sector.
