The All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) inaugurated its 9th batch of postgraduate scholars with a traditional 15-day orientation program, ‘Samskara 2024’, which commenced with the Shishyopanayan Pledge ceremony. A total of 85 newly admitted students, selected through the All India AYUSH Postgraduate Entrance Test (AIAPGET) conducted by the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM), took part in the event.
The orientation program was graced by several distinguished guests, including Prof. (Dr.) Tanuja Manoj Nesari, former Director of AIIA, who served as the chief guest, and Prof. (Dr.) Sujata Kadam, the institute’s Acting Director, who presided over the ceremony. Other key participants included Prof. (Dr.) Mahesh Vyas, Dean PhD; Prof. (Dr.) Yogesh Badwe, Dean PG; Prof. (Dr.) Anand More, Advisor for Academic Activities; and other faculty members.
Addressing the students, Prof. Nesari extended her best wishes, expressing confidence in their potential to create history and emphasizing AIIA’s commitment to delivering exceptional education and fostering transformative journeys. Prof. Kadam inspired the scholars with her analogy: “Just as gold is refined through numerous tests, these three years will transform you into refined gold, making your journey extraordinary.”
The newly admitted students represent diverse regions of India and are part of AIIA’s growing legacy of excellence. Since its establishment in 2017, the institute has provided treatment to over 27 lakh patients and currently serves more than 2,000 patients daily, making it a cornerstone of India’s Ayurvedic healthcare system.
