Shri Divya Prakash Giri, a dedicated and capable officer of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), has recently been transferred and appointed as Special Secretary, Namami Gange & Rural Water Resources Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh. Prior to this, since September 11, 2023, Shri Giri had been serving as Special Secretary, Uttar Pradesh State Excise Department, where he also held the concurrent charge of Special Secretary, Sugar Industries & Cane Development Department. In these roles, based in Lucknow, he contributed to the policy execution and sectoral administration of two vital areas: state revenue generation and sugar industry regulation.
