Randip Singh Jagpal and Sanjay Pandey Appointed as Whole-Time Members of PFRDA

The Government of India has appointed Randip Singh Jagpal, Executive Director at the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI), and Sanjay Pandey, Financial Adviser and Chief Accounts Officer of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), as Member (Law) and Member (Finance) respectively in the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA).

According to the Ministry of Finance’s notification dated April 3, 2025, the appointments are effective from the date of assumption of charge and will continue until the officers attain the age of 62 years or until further orders.

Shri Randip Singh Jagpal brings extensive regulatory and legal experience from his tenure at IRDAI, where he was instrumental in strengthening compliance and legal frameworks in the insurance sector. As Member (Law), he is expected to contribute significantly to the legal fortification and policy enhancement of India’s pension sector.

Shri Sanjay Pandey, known for his financial expertise and leadership at EPFO, takes over as Member (Finance). With vast experience in fund management and public finance, his role is seen as pivotal in enhancing the financial operations and strategic governance of PFRDA.

The PFRDA, the nodal agency regulating and developing the pension sector in India, functions under the leadership of a Chairperson and is assisted by three whole-time members. These new appointments are expected to strengthen the authority’s mission to expand pension coverage and ensure long-term financial security for citizens.
