Ms. Sharandeep Kaur Brar, an Indian Administrative Service officer of the 2009 batch from the Haryana cadre, is a distinguished public servant known for her strong leadership, administrative acumen, and commitment to public service. Her extensive experience spans across land administration, urban development, food distribution, and census operations, making her a highly respected and result-oriented officer.
Recently empanelled as Joint Secretary, Ms. Brar currently serves as General Manager in the Food Corporation of India (FCI), under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution. In this role, she plays a key part in ensuring food security, strengthening supply chains, and overseeing public distribution systems. Her expertise in governance and policy execution has been instrumental in enhancing efficiency within the sector.
Previously, she served as Director (Census Operations) under the Ministry of Home Affairs, where she contributed significantly to population data management, policy planning, and administrative coordination for census activities. Her meticulous approach ensured the smooth execution of large-scale national projects.
Ms. Brar has also held several key positions in Haryana’s district administration, including as Deputy Commissioner of Ambala and Sirsa, where she was responsible for land revenue management, urban governance, and local development initiatives. Her tenure as ADC-cum-CEO in Sirsa and Administrator of Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) in Panchkula showcased her expertise in urban planning, infrastructure development, and public service delivery.
Starting her career with roles as Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) in Panchkula, she quickly gained recognition for her efficient governance and people-centric approach. With her diverse administrative experience, she has consistently demonstrated strategic thinking, policy expertise, and a strong commitment to improving governance at multiple levels.
