Bhupender Yadav appointed as Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change

Shri Bhupender Yadav has been allocated the portfolio as Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.

Shri Bhupender Yadav assumed charge as the Union Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) on 11^th June 2024. He was greeted at the office at Paryavaran Bhawan by Secretary Ms. Leena Nandan, Secretary(EF&CC) and other senior officials of the ministry.

After assuming charge, the Union Minister thanked PM Modi for the opportunity and welcomed his colleague Shri Kirtivardhan Singh. He highlighted the Ministry’s progress over the past decade under PM Modi, emphasizing the balance between environment and development. The focus will be on initiatives like Mission LiFE, introduced by PM Modi at the 2021 Glasgow Climate Conference, which promotes climate-positive behavior and mindful consumption to address the global environmental crisis.
