The Ministry of Culture has initiated the Special Swachhata Campaign 3.0 within the Ministry and its Attached, Subordinate, and Autonomous Organizations across the country. The campaign began with a preparatory phase from September 15 to September 30, 2023, during which targets for disposal and cleaning were earmarked. The implementation phase started on October 2, 2023, and will continue until October 31, 2023. The focus of the campaign is on reducing pendency, space management, and enhancing the workplace experience in offices.
During the preparatory phase, the Ministry and its organizations identified 449 sites across the country for cleanliness. Additionally, the Ministry has identified 176 MP references, 41 Parliamentary Assurances, 33 PMO references, 28 State Govt. references, and 412 Public Grievances for disposal and redressal. About 15,969 physical files and 2,133 e-files have also been identified for review.
During the Swachhata Pakhwara from September 15 to October 2, 2023, various field offices of the Ministry organized 194 events, successfully contributing to the Swachhata hi Seva Campaign. A special program with the theme “Ek Tareekh – Ek Ghanta” was organized on October 1, 2023, at Safdarjung Tomb, New Delhi, where approximately 200 officers and staff of the Ministry and ASI participated.
A community in Jadgalpur, Chhattisgarh, known as the Dhruva community, has also joined the national effort to ensure a litter-free India by promoting harmonious coexistence with nature. Additionally, the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) carried out a special initiative by displaying the ‘Swachhata hi Seva’ slogan on Qutab Minar in Delhi and Sanchi Stupa in Madhya Pradesh.
Secretary of Culture, Shri Govind Mohan, reviewed the preparation of Special Campaign 3.0 and administered the Swachhata pledge to the Heads of Organizations and Officials of the Ministry to contribute to a clean and garbage-free country. Daily progress is being monitored and uploaded on the SCDPM portal hosted by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances. All Attached, Subordinate, and Autonomous Organizations are actively participating in the campaign to achieve the set targets for the designated period.
