The Fourth Industrial Revolution demands a workforce with a new set of core skills to creatively tackle complex and unforeseen challenges. The present and future workforce has to have skills that will help them to adapt new technologies quickly and apply them on job. This calls for Cognitive Skills, Design Thinking, Complex Problem Solving skills that calls for need to move away from rote learning to problem solving and more practical-based and application oriented learning.
The struggle is with triple challenge of making vocational training aspirational, generating employment opportunities for young entrants in the workforce year on year as well as remain globally competitive through improved productivity and efficiency. Therefore, the solution underlines by interweaving the Government, Academia and Industry efforts to achieve overall goal. Rajasthan is the first state in India to establish a mission for livelihoods, in September 2004, in order to address the challenges of unemployment and ensuring gainful and sustainable employment by formulating appropriate and innovative strategies for the poor and vulnerable people. Subsequently, formation of RSLDC and establishment of two Skill Universities point towards maturity of our collective efforts to transform the skilling landscape of Rajasthan.
Against this backdrop, Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) is organising the Rajasthan Skills Summit on Wednesday, 23rd January 2019 at SMS Convention Centre, Opp. RBI, Jaipur. The objective of the Summit is towards creating an ecosystem that empowers our youth for a better tomorrow with a premise of building people, building Rajasthan.
The summit would feature deliberations on:
