NLC celebrates National Science Day

On the occasion of the National Science Day, jointly celebrated by NLC INDIA LTD. and Neyveli Chapter of Tamilnadu Science Forum on 28.02.2017 at Neyveli, Director for Human Resources, NLCIL  Shri R. Vikraman in his presidential address called upon the young generation to dedicate themselves to the task of nation building. In nearby future an Hi-Tech Science  Centre will be constructed which will cater the need of upcoming scientists, engineers, doctors, etc., For the welfare of children many events are conducted and support will be done continuously by NLCIL.

Science Day is celebrated to mark an important event in the life of noble Laureate Sir C.V.Raman . Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman, (Sir C.V. Raman), the world renowned Indian Physicist, on February 28, 1928, had applied for Noble Prize for his discovery after a systematic study of scattering of light by different substances, which came to be called the Raman Effect. The discovery got Sir C.V. Raman the 1930 Nobel Prize for Physics. Hence, February 28th came to be celebrated as “National Science Day” in India. Marking the occasion, NLC INDIA LTD. and Neyveli Chapter of the Tamilnadu Science Forum every year celebrates the National Science Day.

Shri S. Mathivanan, Chief General Manager / Finance & President of Neyveli Chapter of the Tamilnadu Science Forum, also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the importance and history of Science Forum. Shri S. Vinayaga Murthy, DGM/ Education, Sports & Culture/NLCIL speaking on the occasion that around 2,650 students from 14 schools participated in various competitions held like Quiz, Elocution, Essay writing, Drawing, Short Films, etc.,

Shri S.Balagurunathan, Shri S.Ananthaprasath, Thiru R. Damodaran, Office bearers of Neyveli Chapter of Tamilnadu Science Forum,  spoke on the occasion. Prizes were distributed to the students who won in  various competitions.
