SJVN Foundation has been conferred with ‘Gold Plate Award’ by HelpAge India. The award was presented by Former Hon’ble President of India Shri Pranab Mukherjee to Chairman & Managing Director, SJVN Sh. Nand Lal Sharma in a function held at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. On this occasion Chief General Manager Shri D.P. Kaushal was also present along with other senior officers from SJVN.
Sh. Nand Lal Sharma Chairman & Managing Director SJVN stated that HelpAge India has acknowledged various initiatives that SJVN Foundation has undertaken in health sector. He informed that presently SJVN is operating 14 Mobile Medical Units in the states of HP, Uttrakhand, Bihar and Maharashtra and these Mobile Medical units have reached to more than 5.5 Lakh patients at their door steps. SJVN is also regularly organizing specialized health camps and Ayurvedic health awareness programs and these camps and programs have benefitted more than 60,000 individuals. In addition to this SJVN is providing financial support for construction of Integrated Muscular Dystrophy Institute and providing aids & assistive devices to persons with disability through ALIMCO.
SJVN has been implementing CSR activities in and around its area of operations and making significant contribution in the improvement of quality of life of stakeholders.
It is also mentioned that SJVN undertakes its CSR and Sustainability projects in six verticals namely, health & hygiene, education & skill development, sustainable development, infrastructure & community development, assistance during natural disasters, promotion of culture, heritage & Sports.
