33 IAS Reshuffle UP, Amit Gupta Gets Transport, Kaushal Raj Secretary to CM

Indian Bureaucracy, Lucknow, April 22, 2025| In a late-night announcement, the Uttar Pradesh government transferred 33 IAS officers, primarily Special Secretaries and District Magistrates, with over 10 reassigned across districts. The Transport Department, managing UPSRTC’s 13,000-bus fleet connecting rural areas, now has a dedicated Principal Secretary. The Chief Minister appointed new officers as Secretary and Special Secretaries, including a new Home Secretary, State Information Commissioner, and Director of Information and Public Relations. The reshuffle is being viewed as a routine.

1. Shri Lakko Venkateshwarlu IAS (UP 1991), presently Principal Secretary, Transport, and Principal Secretary, Social Welfare with additional charge of Chairman, UPSPTC, Director General, Uttar Pradesh Administration & Management Academy (UPAAM), Director, Scheduled Tribe Research & Training Institute (SCSTRTI), Director, Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj Research and Training Institute Lucknow, is relieved from the post of Principal Secretary, Transport and additional charge of Chairman, UPSPTC. He will continue to hold all other posts.
2. Shri Amit Gupta IAS (UP 2000), presently Principal Secretary, Stamp & Registration Department, Uttar Pradesh, is transferred and appointed as Principal Secretary – Transport, with additional charge of Chairman – Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC).
3. Shri Kaushal Raj Sharma IAS (UP 2006), presently Commissioner, Varanasi Division, Uttar Pradesh, is transferred and appointed as Secretary – Chief Minister, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
4. Shri Abhay IAS (UP 2007), presently Secretary, State Information Commission, Uttar Pradesh, is transferred and appointed as Member – Judicial, Board of Revenue, Uttar Pradesh.
5. Dr Ved Pati Misra IAS (UP 2008), presently Secretary, Revenue Department, Uttar Pradesh, is transferred and appointed as Secretary – State Information Commission, Uttar Pradesh.
6. Shri Jagdish IAS (UP 2009), presently Managing Director, Medical Services Corporation Ltd, Lucknow, Department of Medical, Health & Family Welfare, Uttar Pradesh, is transferred and appointed as Secretary – Home, Uttar Pradesh.
7. Shri S Rajalingam IAS (UP 2009), presently District Magistrate and Collector, Varanasi, is transferred and appointed as Commissioner – Varanasi Division, Uttar Pradesh.
8. Shri Navneet Singh Chahal IAS (UP 2011), presently District Magistrate & Collector, Azamgarh, is transferred and appointed as Special Secretary – Chief Minister, Uttar Pradesh.
9. Shri Ravindra Kumar IAS (UP 2011), presently District Magistrate & Collector Bareilly, is transferred and appointed as DM & Collector – Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh.
10. Shri Pulkit Khare IAS (UP 2011), presently Special Secretary, Planning Department, Uttar Pradesh, is transferred and appointed as Mission Director – Skill Development, Uttar Pradesh.
11. Dr Ujjwal Kumar IAS (UP 2012), presently Special Secretary, MSME, with additional charge of CEO, Khadi & Village Industries Board, Lucknow, is transferred and appointed as Managing Director (MD) – Uttar Pradesh Medical Supply Corporation.
