A delegation comprising 182 IAS officers from the 2021 batch, currently serving as Assistant Secretaries across various Union Ministries and Departments, convened at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre.

In her address to the officers, President Smt. Droupadi Murmu underscored the distinctive nature of their service, characterized by its unparalleled authority, role, and responsibility. She emphasized that it transcends mere employment, representing a noble mission. This mission, she explained, revolves around advancing India and its people through the principles of good governance. President Murmu shared that serving the nation and its citizens is their destined calling, with the collective aspiration of shaping an inclusive and developed India.

President Murmu encouraged the officers to empower their fellow young citizens across diverse fields, highlighting their pivotal role in contributing to India’s vision of becoming a developed nation by 2047. She urged them to act as effective change agents, leveraging their commitment and creativity to transform the country.

The President emphasized the importance of compassion in their roles, asserting that a true civil servant is one whose heart resonates with empathy for the poor and underprivileged. She implored them to make the welfare of marginalized communities an intrinsic belief, facilitating a genuine connection between administrative processes and the real-world impact on the ground. This people-centric perspective, she noted, would enhance their engagement with administrative tasks, making their contributions more meaningful and beneficial to society.
