Shri Vinay Bansal IRAS (2011), presently in cadre, is selected for Central Deputatation and appointed as Financial Advisor – National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Delhi, for a period of five years.

Operating through its fifteen centers, NCLT, is a quasi-judicial authority in India that adjudicates matters involving Indian companies. This includes proceedings related to arbitration, compromises, arrangements, reconstructions, company winding-ups, and the insolvency resolution process for companies and limited liability partnerships under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016.

Established by the Union Government of India under Section 408 of the Companies Act, 2013, the NCLT commenced operations on June 1, 2016. Decisions made by the tribunal can be appealed to the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal, with further appeals possible to the Supreme Court of India on legal grounds. Initially, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs set up eleven Benches, including one Principal Bench in New Delhi and ten additional Benches across cities such as Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Mumbai. Later, more Benches were established in Cuttack, Jaipur, Kochi, Amravati, and Indore, with new members joining the NCLT. The tribunal is presided over by Chief Justice (Retd.) Ramalingam Sudhakar.
