Venkakiah Naidu stresses on need of revisiting education system

Urban Development Minister M Venkakiah Naidu has stressed on the need of revisiting the education system to incorporate value education in curriculum. Mr Naidu said this while addressing the 9th foundation day celebration of the Foundation for Restoration of National Values in New Delhi today. The Minister said, he is holding discussion with Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar in this regard. Mr Naidu said, restoration of national values is the need of the hour.

On Swachh Bharat Mission, Mr Naidu said, it is now becoming people’s movement. He said, people should change their mindset and involve themselves towards this. He said, over four core toilets and 1.28 lakh community toilets have been constructed so far in the country. He also said, 688 cities have been declared Open Defecation Free. He said, the government has set a target of achieving total sanitaiton by 2019.
On the sidelines of the function, Mr Naidu said the CBI has not entered to the TV studios of NDTV or newsroom. Mr Naidu said they have registered a case based on the complaint of a shareholder of NDTV, after carrying out due diligence.
