In a significant reshuffle of administrative leadership, the Government of Uttar Pradesh has announced the transfer and posting of 16 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers across the state. These transfers, dated April 2025, reflect the state’s commitment to enhancing administrative efficiency, promoting dynamic leadership, and streamlining governance across key departments and districts.
The reshuffle includes high-level changes among District Magistrates, Municipal Commissioners, Chief Development Officers, and Special Secretaries, involving officers from diverse batches ranging from 2012 to 2021.
Key highlights of the transfer order include:

Shri Chandra Vijay Singh IAS (2012), District Magistrate of Ayodhya, has been appointed as Special Secretary, Infrastructure and Industrial Development Department.

Shri Nikhil Tikaram Funde IAS (2014), DM of Chandauli, is now DM of Ayodhya.

Shri Chandra Mohan Garg IAS (2016), Municipal Commissioner of Prayagraj, becomes DM of Chandauli.

Shri Seelam Sai Teja IAS (2018) takes over as Municipal Commissioner, Prayagraj, from his current role as CDO, Jaunpur.

Ms. Mrunalee Avinash Joshi IAS (2021), Joint Magistrate in Gorakhpur, has been appointed Chief Development Officer, Jaunpur.

Ms. Nisha IAS (2015), previously DM of Amethi, is the new Mission Director, National Health Mission.

Shri Sanjay Chauhan IAS (2014) has been shifted from Saharanpur to become DM of Amethi.

Shri Sipu Giri IAS (2017) will now serve as Municipal Commissioner, Saharanpur.

Shri Avanish Kumar Rai IAS (2014) is the new DM of Budaun, replacing Ms. Nidhi Srivastava IAS (2014), who moves to the Higher Education Department as Special Secretary.
