Hyderabad: Surmandal, in collaboration with Telangana Tourism, has organised a Hindustani classical recital by Ms Ronkini Gupta at JNAFAU on Saturday, June 22, at 6:30 PM.
Ms Ronkini Gupta, AR Rahman’s favorite classical musician, is an acclaimed vocalist with over 25 years of training. She is a three-time Filmfare nominee for her songs “Rafu” from Tumhari Sulu and “Chaav Laaga” from Sui Dhaaga, and winner of the Zee Talkies–Maharashtra’s favorite singer award for “Tula Zapnaar Aahe.” Recently honored with the Swar Kokila Lata Mangeshkar Award, Gupta has performed at prestigious festivals across India.
She will be accompanied by Ashish Ragwani on tabla and Deepak Marathe on harmonium. Ragwani, a child prodigy, has performed with stalwarts like Anup Jalota and Pt. Ravichari. Marathe has accompanied renowned musicians such as Pt. Jayteerth Mevundi and Ustad Rashid Khan.
