Secretary Level appointments at the Centre

15 Secretary Level appointments at the Centre in a major reshuffle | The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointments for 18 IAS Officers –  15 Secretary Level and and 3 Special Secretary Level  (in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India) with immediate effect , the names of the officers are :

1. Shri S Krishna IAS (Tamil Nadu 1989) presently in the cadre posted as Secretary- Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology .
2. Shri Umang Narula IAS (Uttarakhand 1989) presently in the cadre posted as Secretary- Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs .
3. Shri Ashish Upadhyaya IAS (Madhya Pradesh 1989) presently Special Secretary & Financial Advisor- Ministry of Power posted as Secretary, National Commission for Backward Classes, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment .
4. Shri Katikithala Srinivas IAS (Gujarat 1989) presently Director- Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration posted as Secretary- Ministry of Minority Affairs.
5. Shri Vivek Bhardwaj IAS (West Bengal 1990) presently Secretary- Ministry of Mines posted as Officer on Special Duty, Ministry of Panchayati Raj . The officer will take over as Secretary, Ministry of Panchayati Raj on 31.10.2023.
6. Shri Gudey Srinivas IAS (Odisha 1990) presently Secretary- Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs posted as Secretary- National Commission for Scheduled Castes, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
7. Shri Arunish Chawla IAS (Bihar 1992) presently in the cadre posted as Officer on Special Duty- Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers . The officer will take over as Secretary- Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers  on 31.10.2023.
8. Shri Chanchal Kumar IAS (Bihar 1992) presently Officer on Special Duty- Ministry of Civil Aviation posted as Secretary- Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region .
9. Shri Neeraj Mittal IAS (Tamil Nadu  1992) presently in the cadre posted as Secretary- Department of Telecommunications.
10. Shri Sriram Taranikanti IAS (Tripura 1992), Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor- Ministry of Home Affairs posted as Director- Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration .
11. Shri Shashi Ranjan Kumar IAS (Tripura 1992) presently Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor, Ministry of Textiles posted as Secretary, Union Public Service Commission .
12. Ms. Nidhi Khare IAS (Jharkhand 1992) presently Additional Secretary, Department of Consumer Affairs, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution posted as Special Secretary, Department of Consumer Affairs, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution . The Officer will join as Officer on Special Duty, Department of Land Resources, Ministry of Rural Development  w.e.f. 01.12.2023 and take over as Secretary- Department of Land Resources, Ministry of Rural Development .
13. Shri Vumlunmang Vualnam IAS (Manipur 1992) presently Additional Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance posted as Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation .
14. Shri V L Kantha Rao IAS (Madhya Pradesh 1992) presently Additional Secretary- Department of Telecommunications posted as Secretary- Ministry of Mines .
15. Shri Sanjay Rastogi IAS (Odisha 1991) presently Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor- Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers posted as Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor- Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports .

The ACC has also approved in-situ upgradation of the following officers to the level of Special Secretary in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India as a measure personal to them by temporarily upgrading the posts held by them:

1. Shri Rajendra Kumar IAS (Tamil Nadu 1992) presently Director General- Employees’ State Insurance Corporation, Ministry of Labour & Employment posted as Director General- Employees’ State Insurance Corporation, Ministry of Labour & Employment in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India.
2. Shri Rakesh Ranjan IAS (Manipur 1992) presently Additional Secretary- Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare posted as Special Secretary- Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.
3. Ms. Neelam Shammi Rao IAS (Madhya Pradesh 1992) presently Central Provident Fund Commissioner – Employees’ Provident Fund Organization, Ministry of Labour and Employment posted as Central Provident Fund Commissioner, Employees’ Provident Fund Organization, Ministry of Labour and Employment in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India.
