REC Limited, a Maharatna Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) under the Ministry of Power and a leading Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC), has committed ₹6.01 crore under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative to deploy five Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) across Uttarakhand. The project is part of REC’s flagship healthcare outreach program, ‘Doctor Aapke Dwaar’, aimed at strengthening primary healthcare access in rural and underserved areas.
The initiative was officially launched by Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, along with Shri Dhan Singh Rawat, Hon’ble Health Minister, and senior officials including Dr. Rajesh Kumar (Secretary, Health), Dr. Sunita Tamta (Director General, Health), Shri Sunil Bisht (CPM, REC RO Dehradun), and Shri Jha (COO, CSC Academy).
Implemented in collaboration with CSC Academy, the MMUs will operate across three districts—Haridwar (2 units), Udham Singh Nagar (2 units), and Tehri Garhwal (1 unit)—providing free primary healthcare services six days a week. Each unit is equipped with diagnostic tools and basic treatment facilities, catering especially to remote communities.
Notably, one MMU is dedicated exclusively to women’s healthcare, staffed entirely by female medical professionals, addressing the specific needs of women in conservative and difficult-to-reach areas.
The program will work in coordination with District Chief Medical Officers (CMOs) and the Uttarakhand State Health Department, ensuring effective integration with state healthcare infrastructure.
This Uttarakhand deployment expands the reach of REC’s ‘Doctor Aapke Dwaar’ initiative, which is already active in states like Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Tamil Nadu, and Punjab.
With this initiative, REC Limited reaffirms its commitment to bridging the rural healthcare gap and advancing the government’s vision of “Swasth Uttarakhand, Samriddh Uttarakhand” through impactful, community-focused CSR interventions.
