Shri Raghav Langer IAS (Uttarakhand 2009), presently on Central Deputation and posted as Director – Jal Shakti, Water Resources, River Development, and Ganga Rejuvenation, Government of India, is appointed as Secretary – National Medical Commission (NMC), Department of Health & Family Welfare. This Joint Secretary level position is at Level 14 of the Pay Matrix and is offered on a Central Deputation basis for a combined tenure of 7 years, effective until 03.10.2025.
Shri Raghav Langer has consistently demonstrated excellence in public administration, governance, and policy implementation. With a distinguished academic background, he holds an M.B.B.S. degree from Jammu University, where he excelled in medicine, followed by a Master’s in Public Policy from IGNOU and LBSNAA, securing top ranks in both fields. Before that, as Deputy Commissioner cum District Magistrate of Pulwama and Kathua, he played a pivotal role in governance, public service delivery, and crisis management.
His contributions extend beyond district administration, having led key projects such as the World Bank-assisted development initiatives in Srinagar as Chief Executive Officer. In Uttarakhand, he served as Additional Secretary in the Drinking Water & Sanitation Department and the Higher Education Department, demonstrating his diverse expertise in public welfare sectors. His tenure as District Magistrate of Rudraprayag was particularly commendable, where he played a vital role in disaster management and rehabilitation efforts.
Starting his career as a Joint Magistrate in Ranikhet and later serving as Chief Development Officer in Pithoragarh, Shri Langer exhibited a deep commitment to rural development and grassroots governance.
