Indian Bureaucracy, Chandigarh, April 14, 2025| The Punjab government today announced a reshuffle in the portfolios of seven senior officers, including five IAS, one IFS, and one PCS officer. The changes, officially notified today, involve the assignment of additional charges for key departments such as Anti-Drug initiatives, Civil Aviation, MARKFED, and Food Processing. Simultaneously, the government has appointed full-time Additional Secretary and Director roles within the Department of Education. A detailed list outlining the new assignments of the officers has been released by the government.

  1. Shri Basant Garg IAS (Punjab 2005), presently Administrative Secretary, Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, given additional charge of Secretary – Health & Family Welfare, and Nodal Officer, Anti Drug Campaign, Punjab, relieving Shri Rahul Tiwari IAS of the additional charge.
  2. Smt Sonali Giri IAS (Punjab 2009), presently Managing Director, Punjab State Civil Supplies Corporation Limited (PUNSUP), with additional charge of Director, Civil Aviation, and Secretary, Revenue & Rehabilitation, given additional charge of Administrative Secretary-cum-Director, Civil Aviation, Punjab. She will continue in her existing roles as Managing Director, PUNSUP, and Secretary, Revenue & Rehabilitation (additional charge).​
  3. Shri Kumar Amit IAS (Punjab 2010), presently Special Principal Secretary to the Punjab CM, with additional charge of Special Secretary, Food Processing, and, Managing Director, Punjab Agro Industries Corporation Ltd, is relieved of all the existing additional charges and given additional charge of Director – The Punjab State Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation Limited (MARKFED), relieving Shri Girish Dayalan IAS.
  4. Shri Amit Talwar IAS (Punjab 2013), presently Managing Director, Punjab Health System Corporation, is given additional charge of Special Secretary – Good Governance & Information Technology, and, CEO – Punjab State e-Governance Society, relieving
    Shri Girish Dayalan IAS of the additional charges.
  5. Smt Hargunjit Kaur IAS (Punjab 2013), presently Special Secretary, Public Works Department (Buildings & Roads), with additional charge of Secretary, Punjab Development Commission, is given additional charge of Special Secretary – Food Processing; Mission Director – Food Processing; and; Managing Director – Punjab Agro Industries Corporation Ltd., relieving Shri Kumar Amit IAS of the additional charges.
  6. Smt Kalpana K IFS (Punjab 2014), presently awaiting posting is appointed as Additional Secretary – School Education, Punjab, relieving Shri Charchil Kumar IFS.
  7. Shri Gurinder Singh Sodhi PCS (2016), upon repatriation from Chandigarh Administration, is appointed as Director – School Education (Secondary), Punjab.
