Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), a distinguished Maharatna Central Public Sector Undertaking (CPSU) under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, has earned the prestigious SCOPE Meritorious Award for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) & Responsiveness. The esteemed accolade was presented by Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar, Hon’ble Vice President of India, and graciously received by Shri R. K. Tyagi, Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of POWERGRID, during a ceremonious event held at Vigyan Bhavan.
The recognition from SCOPE (Standing Conference of Public Enterprises), with awardees carefully chosen by a panel of eminent jurors under the chairmanship of Justice TS Thakur, former Chief Justice of India, underscores POWERGRID’s commitment to CSR and its responsive approach in fulfilling societal obligations.

As of December 31, 2023, POWERGRID boasts the successful commissioning and operation of 276 substations, more than 1,76,531 circuit kilometers of transmission lines, and a transformation capacity of 5,17,861 Mega Volt Ampere (MVA). Leveraging cutting-edge technological tools, enhanced automation, and digital solutions, POWERGRID has achieved an impressive average transmission system availability rate of 99.86%. This remarkable feat showcases the company’s commitment to maintaining a robust and reliable transmission infrastructure, contributing significantly to the nation’s power distribution network.
