Ms. Nidhi Kesarwani IAS (Manipur 2004) has been empanelled for holding the post of
Joint Secretary at the Centre.

Ms. Nidhi Kesarwani, a dedicated and accomplished officer of the Indian Administrative Service, has been empanelled for appointment to the post of Joint Secretary to the Government of India, a recognition of her steadfast commitment to public service and her wide-ranging administrative acumen. Holding a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Jabalpur and an M.Tech. in Industrial Engineering from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi—both with First Division—Ms. Kesarwani brings to governance a strong foundation in analytical thinking and systems management.

Over nearly two decades of service, she has amassed rich and diverse experience across multiple key sectors, including health, rural development, drinking water supply, and district administration. Her central deputation as Deputy Director (Director level) in the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare since 2021 has been marked by her instrumental role in policy formulation and implementation in the critical domain of public health.

Previously, as Commissioner-cum-Secretary in the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department, and in the Public Health Engineering Department in Manipur, Ms. Kesarwani demonstrated exceptional leadership in strengthening grassroots infrastructure and delivering essential services to remote regions. Her tenure as Collector and District Magistrate during her inter-cadre deputation to Uttar Pradesh for six years further exemplified her hands-on governance and effective delivery of public services in complex administrative settings.

Beginning her career as Sub-Divisional Officer in Ukhrul, followed by her contributions as Deputy Commissioner in Senapati, she has consistently engaged with diverse populations and challenging field conditions—reflecting her deep commitment to inclusive development and responsive governance.
