Shri Naresh Kumar presently Additional General Manager Deputy Chief Project Manager (Civil), Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Ltd., Noida has been selected as Director (Technical), Braithwaite Burn & Jessop Construction Company Limited.

The Braithwaite Burn and Jessop Construction Company Limited (BBJ) was established on 26th January 1935 by three renowned engineering firms—Braithwaite, Burn, and Jessop—to address growing traffic demands between Kolkata and Howrah by replacing the old pontoon bridge with the iconic Howrah Bridge (Rabindra Setu). BBJ’s legacy began with the construction of this landmark cantilever bridge between 1936 and 1942, followed by the construction of Vidyasagar Setu (Second Hooghly Bridge) from 1979 to 1992.

Incorporated under the Companies Act, 1956, BBJ became a subsidiary of Bharat Bhari Udyog Nigam Limited (BBUNL) in 1987. On 10th July 2015, BBJ and BBUNL were officially amalgamated, and the company continues under the unified name BBJ.

BBJ has executed over 200 railway steel bridges since 1987, including prestigious structures like the Ganga Bridge at Mokameh, Godavari Bridge at Rajahmundry, and Brahmaputra Bridges at Jogighopa and Saraighat. Its portfolio spans steel plants, thermal power stations, oil refineries, and civil construction. With a dedicated workforce of 72 permanent staff and over 1000 professionals deployed on projects across India, BBJ remains a leader in infrastructure, combining engineering excellence with modern technology.
