Union Minister of Civil Aviation and Steel, Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, inaugurated ‘Udaan Bhawan,’ an Integrated Office Complex at Safdarjung Airport in Delhi. The project, completed at a total cost of Rs 374.98 Crore brings together various aviation regulatory authorities in close proximity to the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA), enabling better coordination. Regulatory bodies like DGCA, BCAS, AAIB, and AERA, along with AAI, will benefit from this integration.

The GRIHA-5 rated building is environmentally friendly, designed to maximize daylight usage, utilize efficient LED fixtures, minimize heat gain, and manage wastewater. The facility includes modern amenities such as conference rooms, IT infrastructure, yoga rooms, creche facilities, EV charging, and more.

During the event, a pilot e-wallet facility was also launched, streamlining the processing of fees for regulatory approvals through the Bharatkosh portal. The e-wallet acts as a prepaid account for registered users to add funds in advance, initially through NEFT/RTGS mode. Users can generate receipts and challans instantly, offering a faster and more secure payment system for civil aviation ministry transactions.

In attendance at the event were Gen (Dr.) V.K. Singh (Retd.), Minister of State for Road Transport & Highways & Civil Aviation, and Shri Vumlunmang Vualnam, Secretary, MoCA.
