Ministry of Mines observes Swachhata Hi Seva with 176 activities

#SwachhataPakhwada2023: Ministry of Mines and CPSEs join hands for a cleaner India! From September 15 to September 30, 2023, a fortnight-long initiative was undertaken. A total of 176 Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) activities were organized across fifteen states, engaging 7197 individuals and utilizing 40868 man hours.

National Aluminium Company Ltd. (NALCO) contributed by distributing 100 umbrellas to Konark Temple Management and initiated a massive cleaning effort at Ramchandi temple and the adjacent beach in Konark, Odisha. Renowned sand artist Shri Manas Sahoo created captivating sand art at Golden Sea beach in Puri, garnering media attention and raising awareness about SHS 2023.

Hindustan Copper Ltd. actively participated with 51 activities, conducting extensive cleaning drives at various locations including Indian Copper Complex, Ghatshila; Khetri Copper Complex, Khetri; Malanjkhand Copper Project, Malanjkhand; Taloja Copper Complex, Taloja; Gujarat Copper Project, Jhagadia; Regional Sales Office, Delhi; and Corporate Office in Kolkata.

Mineral Exploration & Consultancy Ltd. organized 14 on-ground activities, including a spirited sit and draw competition for kids at the MECL Corporate Office. National Institute of Rock Mechanics played its part with cleanliness drives both in-office premises and the surrounding areas in Karnataka. Geological Survey of India celebrated World Tourism Day by focusing on Geo-Heritage sites, conducting activities in various Fossil Parks across the country. This included plantation drives, wall art paintings, and free health check-up camps for housekeeping employees.

The SHS campaign culminates on Gandhi Jayanti with a call for one-hour Shramdaan by the Prime Minister. Citizens are encouraged to devote one hour on October 1st for neighborhood cleaning under the slogan “EkTareekhEkGhantaEkSaath.” Ministry of Mines and its units are set to execute 39 activities on October 1st, 2023. Senior officials will lead 15 different activities across the country in homage to Mahatma Gandhi.

On October 2nd, all units and affiliated offices will pay their respects to the Father of the Nation with a Swachhata Pledge and various activities, marking the culmination of the Swachhata Hi Seva Programme and the beginning of Special Campaign 3.0. 🇮🇳🧹 #CleanIndia #SwachhataHiSeva #MinistryOfMines #CPSEs #SwachhanjaliToMahatmaGandhi
