The Government of India has officially designated the ‘Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party’ (JKDFP) as an ‘Unlawful Association’ under Section 3(1) of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) 1967. The JKDFP has been actively involved in anti-national activities since 1998, consistently promoting separatism and terrorist actions within India. The organization’s members have been found advocating for the establishment of a separate Islamic state in Kashmir, which poses a significant threat to India’s sovereignty, security, and integrity. Numerous criminal cases have been filed against the JKDFP, citing violations of various sections of the UAPA 1967, IPC 1860, The Arms Act 1959, and Ranbir Penal Code 1932.
