Shri Madhup Vyas IAS (AGMUT 2000) presently Principal Secretary – Mizoram, and Chief Electoral Officer of the state, is appointed as Deputy Election Commissioner (DEC) – Election Commission of India, in Level 14 of the Pay Matrix, on Central Deputation basis for a tenure of five years.

Shri Madhup Vyas is a seasoned civil servant with over two decades of distinguished service in governance, administration, and policy implementation. He has been appointed as Deputy Election Commissioner (DEC) in the Election Commission of India on Central Deputation for a tenure of five years. His vast experience in electoral management, governance, and public administration makes him a valuable addition to the commission in ensuring free and fair elections.

Prior to this appointment, Shri Madhup Vyas served as Principal Secretary and Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Mizoram, overseeing the state’s electoral processes with efficiency and integrity. His tenure in various administrative capacities reflects his expertise across multiple domains, including commerce and industries, social welfare, environment and forests, urban development, health, and rural governance. He has held key positions such as Commissioner & Secretary in the Delhi Government, Secretary of Health & Family Welfare, Commissioner of Urban Development, and Administrator of Dadra & Nagar Haveli, where he played a pivotal role in policy formulation and execution.

His extensive experience at both the state and central levels, including his roles in the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Information & Broadcasting, and Urban Development, highlights his strategic leadership and governance capabilities. As a Deputy Commissioner and District Collector in Delhi, Goa, and Lakshadweep, he was instrumental in land revenue management and district administration, ensuring effective governance at the grassroots level.
