Dr Madhu Rani Teotia IAS (AGMUT 2008) presently on Central Deputation and posted as Additional CEO- Health & Family Welfare, National Health Authority, New Delhi, is appointed as the Secretary to Delhi Chief Minister, Smt Rekha Gupta.
Dr. Madhu Rani Teotia is an accomplished civil servant whose exemplary career has spanned multiple domains, including health, urban development, education, land revenue management, and social welfare. With a deep commitment to public service, she has consistently demonstrated leadership and administrative acumen across various roles.
Dr. Teotia began her journey in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) in 2008, undergoing rigorous training before assuming the role of Assistant Collector in Jabalpur in 2009. Her early career was marked by hands-on administrative experience in land revenue management, serving as Sub-Divisional Officer (Jaora) and Chief Executive Officer (Zila Panchayat, Rajgarh) before becoming Additional Collector in Gwalior in 2012. These roles provided her with invaluable insights into governance at the grassroots level.
Her expertise in education and social development became evident when she took on the role of Additional Director in the Education Department in 2012, followed by her tenure as Managing Director in the Social Reform Department in 2013. She further strengthened her credentials in urban governance as Deputy Commissioner of North Delhi (2014–2016) and Secretary of the Delhi Jal Board (2015–2016), where she played a crucial role in ensuring sustainable water resource management.
Her leadership continued as District Magistrate and Deputy Commissioner in Delhi, overseeing critical land revenue and district administration matters from 2016 to 2017. She then served as Secretary to the Government of Arunachal Pradesh, handling crucial portfolios in Geology & Mining and Education, where she contributed significantly to adult literacy programs and resource management.
In 2019, Dr. Teotia was appointed Private Secretary to the Minister of State for Women & Child Development, where she played a pivotal role in shaping policies aimed at empowering women and children. Her experience in urban development was further solidified with her tenure in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs as Deputy Secretary (2021–2022) and later as Director (2022–2025), where she contributed to transformative urban policies and sustainable infrastructure development.
Dr. Teotia’s career reached a new milestone in 2025 when she was appointed Additional CEO (Joint Secretary Equivalent) of the National Health Authority.
