An academic achiever, Shri Sharma holds a B.Tech in Textile Engineering from Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, followed by an M.Tech in Textile Engineering from the prestigious IIT Delhi, both with first-class distinction. He later expanded his knowledge in governance and policy by completing a Master of Arts in Public Policy from Indira Gandhi National Open University, Delhi—again with distinction.
Over an illustrious career spanning more than 18 years, Shri Sharma has held several high-impact administrative positions, including serving as Divisional Commissioner and District Magistrate across key districts such as Varanasi, Lucknow, Kanpur Nagar, Allahabad, Muzaffarnagar, and Pilibhit. His tenure in these roles has been marked by effective crisis management, innovative public service reforms, and a consistent focus on citizen-centric governance. As Special Secretary in the Infrastructure & Industrial Development Department, he contributed significantly to state-level industrial policy execution.
Known for his administrative acumen, Shri Sharma has also served in critical land revenue, rural development, and infrastructure departments, demonstrating a rare blend of ground-level sensitivity and policy-level vision. His performance as Divisional Commissioner of Varanasi, in particular, was widely acknowledged for its impact on urban management, cultural heritage preservation, and developmental push in one of India’s holiest cities.
With his inter-cadre deputation to the AGMUT cadre, Shri Sharma is poised to contribute his rich administrative experience to newer geographies and governance challenges. His career so far stands as a testament to dedication, discipline, and a deep commitment to public service.
