21.05.25 | The Ministry of External Affairs has announced that the Kailash Manasarovar Yatra for 2025 will commence in June and continue through August. In a key step towards ensuring a transparent and inclusive selection process, Shri Kirti Vardhan Singh, Minister of State for External Affairs and Environment, Forest and Climate Change, conducted the computerized draw for selecting the pilgrims. The draw was carried out through a fair, computer-generated, random and gender-balanced process, reflecting the government’s commitment to equal opportunity and transparency.

Selected Yatris have been notified of their selection through SMS and email, and can also verify their status by logging into the official Yatra portal at https://kmy.gov.in or by contacting the dedicated helpline at 011-23088133. This year, a total of 5,561 applicants successfully completed the online registration, comprising 4,024 male and 1,537 female aspirants. From these, 750 Yatris have been selected to undertake the sacred journey, organized into five batches of 50 pilgrims each via the Lipulekh route, and ten batches via the Nathu La route. Both routes, now fully motorable, involve minimal trekking, making the pilgrimage significantly more accessible.

In his remarks, Shri Kirti Vardhan Singh emphasized the Government’s efforts to enhance accessibility and transparency while prioritizing the safety and well-being of all participants. He encouraged the pilgrims to embark on the Yatra with humility, responsibility, and environmental awareness, fostering a spirit of mutual care and reverence for the sacred landscape.
