Dr. Jitendra Singh has been allocated the portfolio as Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Earth Sciences, Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office, Minister of State in the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Minister of State in the Department of Atomic Energy and Minister of State in the Department of Space.
Dr. Jitendra Singh assumed charge as Minister of State for the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions for the third consecutive term in North Block, New Delhi. After taking charge, Dr. Jitendra Singh said, “The last 10 years have witnessed a series of revolutionary governance reforms happening under the leadership of PM Modi, and these will continue during this term.” Dr. Jitendra Singh thanked PM Modi for reposing faith in him once again and giving him this responsibility for the third consecutive term. Dr. Singh has held this portfolio since 2014. He is a Member of Parliament from the Udhampur Lok Sabha Constituency.
After taking charge, Dr. Jitendra Singh emphasized continuing reforms until Mission Viksit Bharat is achieved, building on the past decade’s work. He highlighted DoPT’s achievements, such as governance reforms inspired by PM Modi’s “Minimum Government, Maximum Governance” philosophy, and initiatives like pensions for widowed and divorced daughters, rule reforms, and the Karmayogi Mission. He praised CPGRAMS as a global model for public grievance redressal.
Dr Jitendra Singh assumed the charge of Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES) at the Prithvi Bhavan headquarters in New Delhi. He was welcomed by Dr. M Ravichandran, Secretary of MoES, along with senior scientists, officials, and MoES staff. Dr. Jitendra Singh has held this portfolio nearly for two consecutive terms except for a brief period since 2014.
