Dr Jagadeesha K G IAS (Karnataka 2005), presently awaiting posting, is now appointed as Secretary – Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Sciences and Fisheries Department, Bengaluru, Karnataka, relieving Shri V Anbukkumar IAS of the charge. Dr. Jagadeesha holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering from Bangalore University, a B.Sc. in Agriculture from the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore, and an M.Sc. in Genetics from the prestigious Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi—all with First Class distinctions. He has held several pivotal positions, including Secretary, Department of Commerce (Coffee Board), Commissioner of School Education, Additional Chief Electoral Officer, Commissioner of Labour, and Mines Commissioner, among others. Notably, during his tenure as Deputy Commissioner in multiple districts—Yadgir, Hassan, Ramanagar, and Gulbarga—he led key governance initiatives, including disaster management, land revenue reforms, and developmental planning.
In the education sector, his work as Commissioner of School Education was marked by reforms aimed at improving access and quality of primary and secondary education in Karnataka. He also made a lasting impact during his tenure in the Rajiv Gandhi Rural Housing Corporation, spearheading affordable housing programs in rural areas.
