Lucknow, May 29, 2025 – The Uttar Pradesh government has announced a significant reshuffle among senior IPS officers, transferring and posting five Indian Police Service (IPS) officers across the state. These transfers are part of routine administrative changes to optimize law enforcement operations.
Shri Shivhari Meena, a 2010 batch IPS officer of the Uttar Pradesh cadre, who was serving as the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, Technical Services, Headquarters, Lucknow, has been transferred and posted as Additional Police Commissioner (Law & Order), Police Commissionerate, Varanasi. His experience in technical policing is expected to bolster law and order management in the ancient city.
Shri Sanjeev Tyagi, also a 2010 batch IPS officer, who held the position of DIG, Prison Administration and Reform Services, Lucknow, has now been transferred to Basti. He will take charge as the DIG of Basti Range, bringing his expertise in corrections and reform to field policing.
Shri Dinesh Kumar P, who served as DIG, Basti Range, has been approved for Central Deputation. The seasoned 2009 batch officer is set to take up a new role at the central level, reflecting the trust reposed in him for higher responsibilities.
Shri Shivasimpi Channappa, presently Additional Police Commissioner (Law & Order), Varanasi, has been transferred as DIG, Gorakhpur Range. A 2009 batch officer, he brings with him valuable experience in urban policing to his new post in eastern Uttar Pradesh.
Shri Anand Sureshrao Kulkarni, who was serving as DIG, Gorakhpur Range, has now been transferred to Headquarters as DIG, Technical Services. A 2008 batch officer, he will oversee police technology operations and modernization initiatives from Lucknow.
This round of IPS transfers reflects the Uttar Pradesh government’s intent to align senior law enforcement leadership with evolving regional and departmental priorities. The newly appointed officers are expected to bring renewed focus and expertise to their respective areas.
